If you are visually creative and enjoy working with computers, you can change the direction of your career options in less than a year with our Digital Design for Print & Web Diploma Program. Even if you don’t want to offer your graphic design skills in a freelance market, being able to make company information look professional and attractive to customers, or to maintain the company website is a valuable addition for any busy employer. On any given day, small businesses throughout Vancouver Island, in BC and Canada, are counting on some form of internal documents, marketing materials, reports, presentations, or social media graphics to promote and grow their business. According to Work BC, there will be an increasing desire to consider brand appeal when it comes to goods and services and demand for who can successfully represent a brand in both print and digital ways.

No matter where you look, design is hard at work drawing your attention to which book to read, which product to buy, or which ad to pay attention to. A well-designed report is easy to read, either in-depth or to skim through. A well-planned multi-media presentation holds your attention from beginning to end. Visiting a website lets you know the personality of a business at first glance. Whether you’re in a bank lineup, a shopping mall, or surfing online, all of these happen because of the intentional creativity of the designer. A career in graphic design can go in any direction you can imagine and will reward you with new techniques, software tools, and applications. The program can also be valuable to visual artists who want to expand the options for how and where their art is used, or to promote their work to a larger audience.

Our courses are instructor-led and hands-on, meaning that you can ask questions as you and go and apply what you are learning. A two-week practicum allows you to put your knowledge into action and helps you get a feel for your future work environment. You’ll learn how to work with image sizes from web icons to signage, and about what kinds of file types are needed for different applications. The basics of web design will introduce you to the most common programming methods so you know how to balance images and text and create paths for information that end users will appreciate.

Put your ideas and creativity to work with our Digital Design for Print & Web Diploma Program! Call our office for information about upcoming start dates and find out how you can add some colour to your workday.
