About the Program
The Pharmacy Assistant Certificate (Microcredential) is an 80-hour course designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills for entry-level roles in pharmacy settings. The course introduces students to the history of pharmacy practice, roles in both community and hospital environments, and key concepts such as drug classification, dosage forms, prescription workflow, and medical terminology. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, communication, and ethics. Learning is reinforced through case studies and practical exercises.
To practice as a Pharmacy Assistant in British Columbia, graduates:
● Can begin working immediately after graduation in community or retail pharmacies
● Will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
