Program Description
Upon completion of this program, students will possess the knowledge to enter the Insurance Industry in British Columbia, with advanced computer, Insurance and interpersonal skills. Students will also be prepared to take the General Insurance or Adjuster level 1 exams to obtain certification in BC, SK or MB.*
* Exams and certification is optional and not required for graduation. One exam voucher will be included for each student.
Insurance Professional Diploma was reviewed and approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Students are required to be 19 years of age prior to the start of the program or possess a high school diploma (or equivalent), and provide evidence of one of the following English proficiency requirements:
For students who attended an English-language high school, proof of one of the following:
Minimum Grade 10 English, or
Accuplacer Grade 10 level or higher
For students whose first language is not English, proof of English proficiency ability (one of the following):
IELTS 6.0 overall, or
Cambridge English Scale: score of 169 or higher, or
Cambridge English: Advanced score of Grade C, or
Cambridge English: Business Vantage score of Grade C, or
Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test (CLBPT) minimum score of 7, or
CELPIP minimum score of 7, or
TOEFL score of at least 60, or
TOEIC score of at least 605, or
Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of at least 46, or
CAEL minimum score of 50, or
Duolingo English test score of 95 or higher, or
Excel Career College entrance test with a minimum of 65%

Graduates will be able to work in a variety of roles within the Insurance industry, such as Insurance Clerks, Insurance Adjusters, Insurance Agents, Insurance Claims Consultants, and Insurance Sales Representatives. The sale or adjusting of insurance is a regulated occupation in British Columbia.
To work as an insurance agent, salesperson, or adjuster in BC, you must be licensed by the Insurance Council of British Columbia (ICBC). Additional requirements will apply. For more information, please refer to the ICBC website

540 hours (approx. 25 weeks) of synchronous, in-person, distance, or blended training, including 500 hours of theory training and a 40 hour practicum placement.
